Akron Law women who broke the glass ceiling
The late Judge Mary Cacioppo ’45, was the only woman in her wartime graduating class of seven. Two years after earning her J.D., she formed a partnership with Patricia O’Donnell that is thought to have been the first all-female law firm in Akron.

Andrei Iancu, former director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will be the luncheon keynote speaker at ÉðÊ¿Âþ»­’s 26th annual Symposium on Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Policy on Mon., March 25. The in-person event will include full-day Continuing Legal Education (CLE) panels on a range of current topics. The event will take place on the University campus at the Taber Student Union, 303 Carroll St. from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
