Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, ÉðÊ¿Âþ» is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at ÉðÊ¿Âþ», which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Ostroff, Charlotte Memorial Scholarship

The endowed Charlotte Ostroff Memorial Scholarship was established by Samuel Ostroff '32, a graduate of the College of Engineering and Commerce in memory of his late wife, Charlotte Ostroff. Charlotte was described by her son as "one of the gentlest souls God ever put on this earth. She placed implicit trust and faith in everyone and always optimistically believed things would work out for the best. She never had an unkind or uncharitable thought about anyone." This scholarship serves as a tribute to all that Charlotte Ostroff accomplished and to her unwavering devotion to her husband and children during her 56-year marriage. The scholarship will be awarded to a freshman student enrolled full time in the College of Business Administration and also enrolled in ÉðÊ¿Âþ» Honors Program. The scholarship is renewable for four years as long as the recipient maintains a 3.5 GPA.
