When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, ÉðÊ¿Âþ» is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at ÉðÊ¿Âþ», which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Center for Information Technology and E-Business (CITE) Scholarship
The Center for Information Technology and E-Business (CITE) Scholarship was established to recruit outstanding students to the college's information systems and e-business programs and to recognize current information systems and e-business majors who demonstrate academic excellence. It is available to students at any level (undergraduate or graduate) and is renewable.
To be eligible for tbe scholarship, an incoming freshman must have a high school GPA of at least 3.0 and an ACT score of at least 2 or SAT score of at least 880, and be an information systems or e-business major. A current undergraduate or graduate student must be enrolled on a full-time basis, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 and be an information systems or e-business major. To remain eligible for this scholarship, the recipient must continue to major in information systems or e-business in the CBA, maintain a grade point average of at least 3.2, and remain a full-time student.
The CBA Scholarship Committee will select recipients. Freshmen recipients will be selected from the list of incoming freshmen as of February 1. Current students should submit a letter of application to the Committee Chair, CBA Scholarship Committee, College of Business Administration, ÉðÊ¿Âþ», Akron, OH 44325-4805. The annual deadline for application is April 30. The letter should contain the following:
- A brief explanation of the student's circumstances of financial need
- Evidence of academic excellence
- A description of the student's career goals in the fields of accounting information systems, management information systems. or e- business.
